Technician Benchmark Summary

Step-by-step bench guide to separating broken digitizer glass, cleaning adhesive frames, and installing an OEM tested combo display on the Vivo Y11.

Share Workshop Diagnostic:

1. Thermal Preparation & Frame Softening

Place the handset on the heating separator pad at 80°C to 85°C for 3 to 4 minutes. Ensure even heat dissipation so that factory frame adhesive softens without subjecting the internal lithium battery cell to thermal swelling.

Technician Safety Tip: Always disconnect the battery ribbon FPC connector FIRST before touching the display flex ribbon. This prevents catastrophic electrostatic discharge (ESD) surges to the motherboard backlight boost IC.

2. Back Panel & Fingerprint Flex Safety

  • Remove the SIM card tray using an ejector pin.
  • Insert a thin 0.1mm plastic pry card into the lower bottom seam near the charging port.
  • Slide gently along the edges. CRITICAL: Do NOT insert pry tools deeply on the upper-mid right quadrant where the fingerprint scanner ribbon connector is seated.
  • 3. Motherboard Frame Disassembly

  • Remove all Phillips head chassis screws. Keep screws organized by length.
  • Unclip the plastic protective motherboard shield.
  • Disconnect the fingerprint ribbon cable.
  • Disconnect the battery connector.
  • Disconnect the old broken display FPC ribbon cable.
  • 4. Mandatory Dry Testing Before Any Adhesive

Connect the new Abhay Technicals 100% Tested OEM combo display to the motherboard. Reconnect battery power and boot up the handset:

  • Test touch response across all four screen corners.
  • Open the phone dialer and type *#*#558#*#* for factory calibration.
  • Verify consistent backlight brightness across 10% to 100% dimming levels.
  • Check for zero dead pixels or color band distortions.
  • 5. Frame Cleaning & Glue Application

Remove all residual glass shards and old adhesive residue from the chassis groove using curved tweezers and a nylon brush. A flat chassis frame ensures the new combo will sit flush without pressure spots:

  • Apply a thin, uniform bead of B-7000 or T-7000 black adhesive along the internal bezel lip.
  • Seat the display combo gently without flexing the glass.
  • Use silicone rubber bands or display fixing clamps at moderate tension for 45 minutes to cure.
